Michael Greer is a former strong safety, who graduated from Pacific in 1984, where he earned his Bachelor degree in business communication. He played in several different football leagues throughout his career, but he is best known for his many years of coaching at the high school and college level. He is married with four children and resides in Oakland, California. His professional career includes:

  • First round pick for the Los Angeles Express of the United States Football League

  • The USFL folded two months later, so he signed with the Los Angeles Raiders of the NFL in January of 1984

  • Two years for the raiders as a special team player and strong safety

  • After his Raiders career he signed with the Atlanta Falcons for two years

  • He then joined Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League for two years

  • Ended his professional career with the Barcelona Dragons from the World Football League

 

 

 

After his professional career he began coaching at the high school and college level, as well as scouting for arena football teams, and he also worked at a Juvenile detention center. His coaching career includes:

  • Started as a coach for youth football teams

  • Co-head coach at Albany High School and Kennedy High School in 1995 and 1995.

  • Assistant coach for one year and head coach for two years at Miramonte High School

  • Defensive Backs coach at Chabot from 2000-2002 at Chabot

  • He coached at Saint Mary’s College as a Linebacker and Special Teams coach until 2004, when the team was discontinued.

  • He is currently a Head Coach, COO, VP of football operations and player development at the Pro Indoor Football Institute
