Woodcock was born on March 19, 1954 and died from a heart attack at his home in Fremont at the age of 44. He was a defensive lineman who played in the NFL. He attended Washington High School in Fremont, CA where he played 4 years of football. He then went on to play for the University of Hawaii from 1974–1975. He was a third round draft pick in the 1976 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions. His NFL career consisted of playing for the Detroit Lions from 1976–1980 and then the San Diego Chargers from 1981–1982.
