Former Cal State East Bay assistant coach, and current head coach of the Moreau Catholic Varsity baseball team speaks on what it was like to coach with Darren Lewis:

"Having the opportunity to coach with Darren Lewis the past two years at Cal State East Bay was an absolute blessing. Coach Lewis is a tremendous motivator, teacher and role model for young men in the game of the baseball. He teaches just like he played, focusing on outfield play, base running, offensive approach and mechanics, and execution. But besides his excellent coaching abilities, what impresses me more about Darren is he received his degree after he retired from playing thirteen years in the big leagues. This is not normal and neither is Darren. Darren is a "go getter." The players follow his leadership and so do his peers. I am honored to have Darren as one my good friends in my lifetime."
