Clara Ho learned at an early age how to be a well rounded athlete. Clara Recalls, “An all-star coach I had when I was little told me to ‘save my tears for something more important’ when I cried after losing a race. He said I would have thousands of more races in my lifetime and this was just a stepping stone in my athletic career. I never cried again in my racing career.”

Throughout her high school swimming career, she won all league MVP from 1995 - 1998. She also won an individual NCS and HAAL Champion from 1995 - 1998 and in 1996 her team won the HAAL Championship. Clara held school records in all events except the 100-yard breaststroke and broke the National Independent School Record in the 100-yard butterfly in 1998.

In 1995 - 1996 Clara was on the US National Junior Team in Paris where she won a bronze medal and the Exceptional Performance award. In 1998 - 1999 she was on the US National Team and represented the US at at the Short Course World Championships in Hong Kong in April 1999.

Clara credits her experience at Moreau for helping her to learn how to balance school life and athletics, in addition to shaping her professionally. Clara says, “Athletics are a beautiful thing that has helped shape me and my professional career. I loved it when I played and I still love it now on the administrative side of sports. Sports are a form of entertainment, nothing more and nothing less. MCHS was instrumental in helping me keep balance in life by allowing me to be a full-time student and a world class athlete at the same time.”
