Chad Nightingale is currently the Head Varsity Football Coach at Salesian High School. He is currently coaching his 15th season as head coach and has been part of the Salesian football staff for 18 years. He went to school at Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward under head coach Tim Walsh. There, Coach Nightingale played wide receiver and defensive back for the Mariners for three varsity seasons. He also ran track and field  as  well for four years. He was on and off with defense and offense but was a main threat as a wideout. He graduated Moreau in 1985 and signed a national letter of intent to the University of California, Berkeley where he played college football as a wide receiver on a full ride scholarship.. Chad played under Head coaches Joe Kapp and Bruce Synder and position coach Steve Mariucci.
