Bill Ring was born on December 13, 1956 in Iowa. Bill was a former NFL running back who played six seasons in the NFL from 1981 to 1986. He was a reserve and special teams player for the 49ers during the early success of the Bill Walsh era. Ring attended BYU during his college years for football. His first year in the NFL was with for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1980 and in 1981 he went to the San Francisco 49ers. He has played in a total of 69 games for the 49ers during his 6 seasons in the NFL.
