Coach Vermeil established a winning Moreau Catholic Football program. He was instrumental in developing the weight room, and the concept of off season training to build for speed and strength. He went on to work with the Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Vermeil is the only strength coach to have worked in the NFL, MLB, and NBA; having won 7 sports championships with the Bulls and San Francisco 49ers.  As a coach at Moreau in the 1970’s, his football teams were very successful and won the first CAL title in Moreau Catholic High School history. He is now president of Vermeil Sports and Fitness and is a guest speaker at coaching clinics.

 

 

  • He is known for his training methods and techniques in sports.

  • Inducted to MCHS Hall Of Fame in 2008 because he established winning programs at Moreau with his leadership.

  • Also inducted Napa Valley College, USA Strength and Conditioning, and Strength Coaches Hall of Fame.

  • Coached MCHS football team to a CAL championship in 1975

  • Became the head football coach at Moreau Catholic High School in 1973 and led the Mariners to three Catholic Athletic League titles in six years.

  • Now lives in Lincolnshire, Illinois with his family.
